A mini rant - how many MLB.com/products do I have to buy?
As a baseball nut I currently subscribe to the MLB Extra Innings package (with the HD add-on) on DirectTV. - for $189.00
Last year, as part of my Green Monster Ticket benefit I got a free MLB.TV subscription, with Gameday Audio, so I could watch baseball on my computer (handy for day games) or listen on my computer at work occasionally (which is great so it doesn't crush the bandwidth on our work T1.)
Of course this year, the Green Monster Ticket benefit was lowered to the Gameday Audio (a $14.95 value, whoopee!) I didn't get the free MLB.TV (now $79.95) - I lost that part of the package (but I did get an official Fenway brick - note Hologram - and another Red Sox hat to add to my collection of about 12.)
Also, as an iPhone user, last year I got the MLB application (at $2.99) - of course that application has been downgraded to the "lite" version - and a new Application will take its place.
As a real fan, I'm looking for the "big enchilada" package. With the NBA's product, if you buy the package on your TV, they give you access to the computer product for FREE.
With MLB, if I get the Extra Innings TV package, can't you at least discount the computer package, and maybe throw in the iPhone package for free?
Play ball!
